Our Wines at the Oldenburg International Film Festival 2025

At The Old Roots, we are deeply proud to collaborate with Screen Ireland and the Embassy of Ireland in Germany to support and promote Irish cinema on the global stage. This year, we were honoured to take part in the special reception at the Oldenburg International Film Festival, celebrating the remarkable presence of Irish film at this prestigious event.

Our wines were the exclusive selection served at the festival’s official reception, as well as at several private gatherings throughout the programme. We are sincerely grateful to Ambassador Maeve Collins for her passionate words about our wines during her speech, and we warmly acknowledge the dedication and tireless efforts of the entire embassy team in ensuring that Irish wine was represented at such a significant cultural occasion.

Widely regarded as the “European Sundance,” the Oldenburg International Film Festival is a leading cultural event in Europe with global reach. Among the Irish works featured this year were the world premiere of Crazy Love by director Kevin Treacy and cinematographer Jason Byrne, the international premiere of Horseshoe by Edwin Mullane and Adam O’Keeffe, and Re-Creation by Jim Sheridan and David Merriman.
